FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do we need to do our work using a pencil?
Learning is a process. Many steps are needed for most assignments at this level. Often, mistakes are made as we learn new concepts and review old ones. We need to be able to erase the errors and correct them without rewriting the entire problem/sentence over and maintaining a neat paper. This avoids having problems marked wrong or points taken off for clarity due to an inability to read the work.

Why do we have homework?
Math is very similar to playing a sport. In order to improve and keep up skills, practice is necessary. Homework gives additional practice and allows the student to self-evaluate his/her success with the objectives. Any questions or concerns can be answered in class the next day to reinforce learning.

What do I do if I can't find my math journal (composition book)?
First, check all of the classrooms that you travel to each day. Next, check your locker and home carefully. Last, check lost and found in the media center. If you still can't locate it, you will need to get a new one from home or your locker; then copy all the notes from the current unit into the new one using a classmate's journal on your own time (You may also use Lunch Bunch for this time.).
